KUCHING -
SARAWAK – OCT 2008 Day 1 and 2
2 TO 5 OCT
2008
This was my
first vacation in East Malaysia. It was a free and easy 4 days trip on my off flying duties
period, to get to know Kuching, state capital of
Sarawak better. Our time spent was mostly in the city centre. We took a
day trip out to visit a native village.
We stayed
in Medeka Palace Hotel in the city centre and near to the Kuching Waterfront
along the Sarawak River.

Sarawak
Cultural Village is one of
Malaysia’s best-known and most iconic cultural attractions, It is a unique
living museum offering exciting and informative introduction to Sarawak
cultures and lifestyles. Nine authentic replica buildings represent every
major ethnic group in Sarawak; Bidayuh, Iban and Orang Ulu longhouses, a Penan
jungle settlement, a Melanau tall-house, a Malay town house, a Chinese
farmhouse and pagoda. Each is staffed with members of their respective
ethnic groups, in traditional costume, carrying out traditional activities.
