Today we
were back in Kyoto for viewing some landmarks and historical sites. With good spring weather, it was a great day
to move around Kyoto city. Moving around the city was convenient with local
buses.
Heian
Shrine and the Garden
This is a Shinto Shrine built in 1895 designed to mimic the likeness of old Imperial Palace. It is a recommended site to see weeping cherry trees.
Imperial
Palace external ground and walls. We did not enter the palace as it was closed.
Kyoto Gyoen
National Garden
This huge park surrounds the Kyoto Imperial Palace. It is also a popular spot for sakura “hanami”
or cherry blossom viewing.
And we had take-out Japanese Sushi back in the hotel room. Most convenient dinner after a long day.
