Pu Luong Nature Reserve Day 2

The hotel served simple breakfast on the terrace cafeteria. Viewed from here, the valleys were shrouded in dense mist. It was cold too.

This morning,  we walked about 5 km  to Doan Sunday Market. The stunningly beautiful padi terraces was always beautiful sight to see.

The walk took us through many hamlets over many steep hills.

The villagers here are of Black Thai ethnicity, which has no relationship to Thais in Thailand.

In Doan Sunday Market, almost any household amenities and food were sold.

We had coffee here and then found a private car to drive us to Cong Village to see the iconic waterwheel.

The waterwheel were built completely with bamboo. It is an innovative traditional irrigation tool to deliver water to the padi field. The water current turn the waterwheel.

The surrounding area irrigated by this water distribution system.

We had lunch here, overlooking the padi field

We hailed a taxi to drive us back to Pu Luong, stopping near and Don Village and trek about 2 km back to our hotel.
