My last flight with Singapore Airlines was on 31st Oct
2017.
The flight is SQ306 from Singapore to London Heathrow.
The other crew are Capt Lim Boon Pin, SFO Bernard Lee
and SFO Sean Cheng K C
Cabin Crew was headed by IFM Michael Gomez and CS Lee
H M with another 13 crews
Flight departed at 0111 Sin time and arrive London
0721 Lon time.
Aircraft Registration 9V-SWP
Total flight time was 14 hours and 10 minutes.
Briefly,
This flight was what an aviator would described as a non-event.
Something that all crew love.
It simply means the aircraft was dispatched with no
engineering effects and all ground services like catering, cleaning, passengers
check in, boarding and security check went on without any hitch.
Weather at both departure and arrival as well as
enroute weather were good for normal operation. Standard fuel was uplifted.
SQ306 was cleared from apron after successful engine start. It was standard
taxi and departure out of Singapore RWY 02C with no restriction.
On cruise, there was no ATC restriction for speed as
well as altitude. All passengers were well and none required medical attention. The weather on the entire route was pleasant with uninterrupted services.
Arrival into London was Standard LAM3A Arrival for RWY 27R.
It was a smooth landing and taxi to the gate.
After so many years of flying, it was indeed
satisfying that as a captain I had operated thousand of flight with absolute
safety, no injuries to crews and passengers. No damage to all the aircrafts
that I had operated. I had no conflicts
with both technical or cabin crew.
I have encountered very challenging and trying
situations especially in incremental weather. There had been also many
engineering defects that an operational call must be made. At time there were needs
for discretion where commercial imperative must also be considered. I have
always made my decisions judiciously with no compromise to safety.
Finally I can say that I ended my flying career on a very
happy mode. I am very proud of myself
for doing a wonderful job.
