Morning – Shangri-la

Afternoon – Shangri-la to Kunming

Dukezong Ancient Town is a 1300 year old town featuring traditional Tibetan homes, ancient temples and pagodas and narrow winding alleyways. Nearby is Guishan Park with an impressive Tibetan Buddhist temple and has a good view of the town. The temple features a very large gilded prayer wheel covered with Buddhist deities.  

                                        

Guishan Park is the highest place in Dukezong ancient city. Up here, there is the Guishan Temple with the golden Giant Prayer Wheel, Dafo Temple and Red Army Long March Museum.

The streets

After lunch, the tour bus drove us back to Kunming. The ride was over 7 hours.
