BARCELONA 2ND DAY

22 APRIL 2018

After 2 weeks of walking and driving, the exhaustion set in. So today we didn't walk much. Instead we spent most time sitting in the park watching the world go by.

We had a very good Chinese All you can Eat Buffet Lunch. Cost less the 20euros. The sea food selections was really value for money. So appealing that we had buffet lunch for 2 days.

BARCELONA

21 TO 23 APRIL 2018

 Discription of Barcelona by Wikipedia.  "It is the capital and largest city of Catalonia, as well as the second most populous municipality of Spain. Founded as a Roman city, in the Middle Ages Barcelona became the capital of the County of Barcelona. After merging with the Kingdom of Aragon, Barcelona continued to be an important city in the Crown of Aragon as an economic and administrative centre of this Crown and the capital of the Principality of Catalonia. Barcelona has a rich cultural heritage and is today an important cultural centre and a major tourist destination. Particularly renowned are the architectural works of Antoni Gaudí."

As it is difficult and expensive to drive and park the car in Barcelona city centre, we decided to move around on subways. It's 10 minutes walk from our hotel to the nearest station. From here the train can bring us right to the city centre which connect to most of the tourist spots and places of interest.

The next two days were basically walking tours of this beautiful city Barcelona. Weather was very pleasant.

SCENIC DRIVE THROUGH NORTHERN SPANISH COUNTRY SIDE

20 APRIL 2018

This morning, we headed toward Pamplona, the bull fighting capital of the world.

 

After that, it was a scenic drive through northern Spain. We drove from Pamplona to Jaca  to Ainsa. These towns lies along the valleys and foothill of southern Pyrenees.

 

Then we drove south to the city of Lleida. Along the way are scenic lakes, trees still barren even in late spring though the grass and undergrowth are already bright green.  

 

Amidst the agricultural land are rivers and streams with shallow water flowing over rocks and big stones.

 

 

And the awesome yellow canola field which is truly breathtaking.
