Discription of Barcelona
by Wikipedia. "It is the capital and largest city of Catalonia,
as well as the second most populous municipality of Spain. Founded as a Roman
city, in the Middle Ages Barcelona became the capital of the County of Barcelona. After merging with the Kingdom
of Aragon, Barcelona continued to be an important city in the Crown
of Aragon as an economic and administrative centre of this Crown and the
capital of the Principality of Catalonia. Barcelona has
a rich cultural heritage and is today an important cultural centre and a major
tourist destination. Particularly renowned are the architectural works of Antoni
Gaudí."
As
it is difficult and expensive to drive and park the car in Barcelona city
centre, we decided to move around on subways. It's 10 minutes walk from our
hotel to the nearest station. From here the train can bring us right to the
city centre which connect to most of the tourist spots and places of interest. The next two days were basically walking tours of this beautiful city Barcelona. Weather was very pleasant.
