As I arrived in this city, I feel that it just like another city in Thailand. Although at one time, this city was under Muslim control, but I felt that this influence is very minimal. Majority of the population here are Buddhists and this trend is set to be the same as I move north.
Clearly, my observation is that this is a commercial city serving the surrounding regions. There are many hardware shops dealing with house construction and maintenance as well as farm related equipment and accessories. Otherwise, most shop deal with household and domestic needs.
In the last few days, I haven't encountered a single European. Today I saw a old couple. I also met up with 3 Singaporean bikies on there BMW motorcycles.
This town hardly has any fast food and decent café. Its so difficult to find an eating places I feel very comfortable. In the end I have to resort to street foods in an open market.
This lonely limestone rock stood up against the skyline of Phattalung. Otherwise, the city sits on flat land.
There is also a cave where a Buddhist temple is built. Seem to me its a young caves as the stalactites and stalagmites are still not so pronounced. Inside the caves are many Buddhist statues including a large steeping Buddha.
