PHETCHABURI, CITY OF TEMPLES

I  have only one impression. This is the city of temples.

Phetchaburi means “city of Diamond”. The city straddles the Phetchaburi River.  An ancient royal palace name Phra Nakhon Khiri sits on the hill top name Khao Wang. Up here you get a panoramic view of this small city. The hill top is planted with very beautiful frangipani. These trees are aged and very artistic indeed. The palace was built by King Mongkut and finished in 1860

The city is no difference from other Thai city. There are mainly 2 or 3 storey shop houses. Motorbikes are very popular. Bundles of electrical cables hang across and along the roads.  Street vendors are almost everywhere.
