Boarded AirAsia A320 for 2 hours flight to Miri. Weather around Miri was fine and the aircraft landed on this small airfield and disembarked the passengers at a remote bay.
The immigration clearance was quick as there wasn’t too many arrivals. Getting a taxi was orderly and the ride to town was smooth in relatively light traffic.
Miri is like any small Malaysian town. 2 to 3 storeys terrace shop houses line the streets. In the city centre are blocks of 4 to 5 storeys building. The town has very strong Chinese presence as can be manifested by the Chinese signboards displayed.
After checking into hotel, I took a walk in the city. Really, there’s nothing impressive. There are plenty of eateries especially seafood and most are operated by Chinese.
I ordered seafood takeaway dinner and rested early.
