14 May 2006
This
morning on our drive to Chengdu, we visited a Qiang Village. The Qiang people
are an ethnic group in China and mostly found in Szehuan Province. There are
many Qiang villages along the route and they are open for tourists to view their villages, houses and lifestyles. Villagers sell souvenirs
too.
Around the village
The Qiang
people dress themselves in colourful and beautiful clothes; wear silver
ornaments and embroidered shoes and girdles. They live in houses with very
basic amenities.
Inside the houses of the Qiang People
Driving south to Chengdu, we drove over Miaoziping Bridge to cross the Minjiang (river).
In the
evening, we watched Chinese cultural show. The highlight was “Face Change”
performance. This is an ancient art that take actors years to master.
