Day 3 Afternoon

JIUZHAIGOU
VALLEY
After lunch,
we drove to the north end of the Zechawa Valley and walked from Long Lake
southward. The altitude is a few thousand feet higher, thus it was colder and with
recent snow, it appeared like winter.

From Zechawa Valley, we drove snow covered vegetation and mountains to Rize Valley. There are 3 valleys in Jiuzhaigou.
Driving further south, the landscape and scenery gradually turned green, more like in summer. We walked from Arrow Bambo Lake southward to the famous Pearl Shoals Falls.

Our next stop was one of the 9 Tibetan Villages, where the name Jiuzhaigou derived and became a world famous tourist attraction. Most of the villages were commercialized and become tourist spots, showcasing Tibetan art and culture and selling souvenirs.
