Betong-Kampong Tasek-Baling-S Petani-Parit Buntar
Left Betong on a Tut Tut to Thailand Border, thereafter a Malaysian taxi ferried us to Malaysia Custom. We collected our rental car and drove to Kampong Tasek, south of Kroh for Sham to revisit his childhood house and meet some of his old neighbours. Along the way, passed by Tasek Lake.

On the way out, we stopped by Kroh or Pengkalan Hulu, had coffee where Sham met up with old neighbours
Next stop was Baling, the place Tunku met Chin Peng. It was a weĺl developed town with the mountain behind.
We proceeded to Sungai Petani for lunch and I took a short walk over River Petani.
From S Petani, we drove to the river mouth of River Muda and viewed Kuala Muda, It is a Malay fishing village, and there were many colourful Malay fishing boats along the jetty and beach. We drove along narrow road lined with palm trees through many Malay rural communities.
Driving further south along the Perak coast and through through Kampong Kuala Muda
After that, we drove to Parit Buntar and stayed there for a night at Hotel Damai. We had a great meal in the town.
