Matixiang and Caves Temples

6 Jul 18

It's Day 10 on the road and the weariness was doe set in. Work up early in the morning, my brother and I climb a nearby mountain and visit the Mati Temple.

There are a couple of Buddhist temples and many are built on the mountainside. This is the northern part of the Qilian Mountain Ranges and it's about 50 km south of Zhangye

To go up to this temple, we have to climb a numbers of steep ladders through narrow wells inside the caves

We had lunch at this town. Then we drove back to the cave temple we visited yesterday and made a special prayer for my father in law who passed away 4 weeks ago and made a donation on Lynn behalf.  The name of this temple is Dilinglao Heshangshe Lizhita

Thereafter we  drove around the mountains, they are beautiful, covered with green grasses. We sighted many  sheep and cows grazing the lush green grass.

The drive continue through Qilian mountain and was a long drive.

We stayed in the outskirt of Qilian town. It's a village family hotel operated by Muslim Hui tribe. The hotel served both dinner and breakfast. The vegetable dishes we ordered was freshly harvested from hotel garden. We had stewed lamb with pasta like noodle.
