Qinghai Wasute Water Yadan Geo Park

The journey to this geological park is 2 hours drive through beautiful mountain ranges. It's about 200 km west of Dachaidanzhen where we stayed.

 

This park is between two lakes on the eastern side of the Tibetan Plateau. The rock formations popped out from lake and thus unique and beautiful. It was  officially opened recently. It's still work in progress. It's certainly has the potential to be a big tourist attractions

 

As it is a newly opened spot, the visitors number were low unlike more matured tourist attractions which are always overcrowded. We had the luxury of space and freedom to roam around this Yadan  as we wish and take our time to poise for the best photo shot.

 

We also drove the ATV through beautiful landscape and enjoyed the awesome views of submerged rock formation.

 In the afternoon, we drove over 400 km to Dunhuang. We crossed over to Gansu province. Our driver keep himself awake by talking and cracking melon seeds. The ride on the MPV was very comfortable as the road condition was world class. The mountain landscape was a beautiful sight.

 

 Dunhuang is a major tourist town with many hotels and eateries. We had one of the most expensive dinner of this trip and it wasn't good at all.
