NEW ENGLAND DAY4 -- OCT 2017

Day 4

13 Oct 17

Vermont Central

Driving Route

Rutland-Ludlow-Weston-Londonderry-Chester-Reading-Woodstock-Rochester-Brandon-Burlington

This was to see rural Vermont and much talked about autumn foliage in Vermont. The route was recommended by travel books as the “Central Vermont Foliage Tour” driving on rural roads between small towns. Before this trip, it was hard to visualize where Vermont is. This trip had been educational on US rural whites living in small towns where the early migrants settled.

Rutland to Ludlow on Route 103 with Mill River close to the road.

We stayed at Motel 6 in Burlington

We often spoke of the beauty of English countryside. This place is the equivalent but it is American countryside where most town’s names are named after English towns. It is equally scenic and beautiful with air of peace and serenity.
