Rutland-Ludlow-Weston-Londonderry-Chester-Reading-Woodstock-Rochester-Brandon-Burlington
This was to
see rural Vermont and much talked about autumn foliage in Vermont. The route
was recommended by travel books as the “Central Vermont Foliage Tour” driving on rural roads between small towns. Before
this trip, it was hard to visualize where Vermont is. This trip had been
educational on US rural whites living in small towns where the early migrants settled.
Rutland to Ludlow on Route 103 with Mill River close to the road.

We stayed at
Motel 6 in Burlington
We often
spoke of the beauty of English countryside. This place is the equivalent but it
is American countryside where most town’s names are named after English towns. It is equally
scenic and beautiful with air of peace and serenity.
