New Hampshire
Day 6

Mt Washington
Driving
Route:
Montpelier-Mount
Washington - Conway
It was a 2 hours drive through the states of Vermont to New Hampshire.
Mount Washington
is the highest mountain in NE America with an elevation of 6288 feet and sits
on the White Mountain National Forest. Weather was very windy and cloudy as it
is known for its notoriously foul and erratic weather. Wind speed of up to
370km/hr had been recorded.
Mt Washington Cog Railway is the first mountain climbing cog railway. When we arrived at the station, we were told the ticket on this historical train has been sold out for weeks. So we took the alternative route b driving up the winding road to the top of Mt. Washington from the eastern slope.
View from
the top of Mount Washington. The views were ordinary and there is nothing
spectacular, maybe it was due to poor visibility.
We drove to
Conway (Route 16) and stayed there for a night at Green Granite Inn
