S AFRICA - CAPE TOWN-DEC 2005 DAY 4

CAPE TOWN - CAPE POINT

Day 4

2 Dec 05

We drove south to the Cape Peninsula.

Our first stop was Boulder Beach. This is also a popular beach side resort.

They main attraction here is the colonies of penguins that inhabit the white sandy Foxy Beach. The boulders on the beach with the bluish sea and splashes from the waves make the scenery stunningly beautiful.

The next stop was Cape Point. It is spectacular, with towering stone cliffs, breathtaking waves, beautiful beaches, bays, rolling green hills and valleys.

Cape Point was named by Portuguese mariner Bartolomeu Dias and this point was treated with great respect by sailors because of its treacherous seas.

Next stop was further south at the Cape of Good Hope, also named by Bartolomeu, first Europeans to sail around the southern point of Africa.

The scenery here are equally spectacular.
