Rotorua is
known for bubbling mud pools, shooting geysers and natural hot springs. There
are many beautiful and colourful crater lakes with steam oozing from the
surface and spectacular landscape that is breathtaking and as well as mystical
at times. It is also a showcase of
unique Maoris’ culture and tradition.
First stop
of the day was Wai-O-Taipo
Sulfur Cave
Lady Knot's Geyser was our next visit. This geysers is induced to erupt everyday at 10,15 am. This was done by dropping some chemical into the vent. The water sprayed up to 20 meters into the sky
Mud Pool at Wai-O-Tapu
Our next itinerary was the Waimangu Volcanic Valley. It is the world youngest geothermal valley. It was also the home of Pink and WhiteTerraces which was destroyed by erruption of Mt Tarawera in 1886. m
