We spent the morning walking around Wellington City. It was a wet day with drizzle.

We returned our car at the ferry station at Wellington harbour. Then we boarded the ferry to Picton Ferry Point on South Island The ferry cruise was over 3 hours.

In Picton, we rented another car. From here we drove to Nelson and stayed there for a night
