Day 7
PACIFIC COAST ON HIGHWAY 1
We spent some time in Merced on shopping at apparel stores. After lunch we started driving to Big Sur on the Pacific coast. Midway we stopped Highway rest area to take a break and had coffee in a café.
We drove on the famous Highway 1 which connects San Francisco to Los Angeles.
Highway 1
is a scenic route with natural beauty. The mountains, cliffs, ocean, big waves,
rocks, beaches and the vegetation along the beach provide a spectacular view.
Sunset over the Pacific Ocean is special too.

We drove as
far south as time permitted. After sunset we drove back to Monterey and had
dinner at Denny’s before retiring in America Best Inn.
