MEDAN INDONESIA JULY 2016

 

MEDAN - BARASTAGI HIGHLAND - LAKE TOBA

6 to 10 July 2016

Day 1 

This was short vacation was for Lynn, Mei and me. It was a guided tour of Medan, Barastagi Highland  and popular volcano Lake Toba.

We flew to Medan on Silk Air and was met on arrival at Kuala Namu Airport by our  tour guide. They drove us to Berastagi Highlands and the journey took 3 hours driving through many rubber and palm oil plantations. We checked into Hotel Sibayak International.  It was a lovely mountain resort hotel.

 

In Berastagi, the guide took us to a nearby local fruit market that has very wide varieties of local fruits. 

                                            

Besides fruits, there were even pets for sale. Dinner was at a local restaurant.

                                          

                                          

                                           

 

7^th July 2016

Day 2

Lake Toba

We enjoyed the cool morning air up on Berastagi. No spectacular sights but it was a relaxing place

                                           

We drove to Sipiso Piso Falls, passing by small villages as well as Lake Toba from higher ground.
