Day 7

Ranong to Krabi

Time spent driving today was over 6 hours from Ranong to Krabi. I stopped for lunch at Takua Pa.

After lunch I visited Khao Lak. A popular beach for tourists who doesn't want to stay in Phuket or Krabi.  Khao Lak was one of the hardest hit area in the 2004 Tsunami. Some dilapidated buildings and damaged shoreline are still a reminder of that killer wave.

My next stop was Khaolak Namru National Park which also include part of Khao Lak Beach.

Earlier in the morning, I visited the Residence of Governor of Ranong, which is now a museum. He was a Hokkien and was the first Governor of Ranong. This Chinese diaspora was really succesfull and outstanding like many in other part of SE Asia.
