20th Sept 24
Day 1
We started our discovery journey in Lisbon on the highly recommended Tram 28. This tram ran through the old city many historical districts, a really good introduction of Lisbon city.
This was really a good way to see the old city of Lisbon. The narrow and winding cobbled stone roads wind over hilly terrain. The unique and beautiful Portuguese architecture say a lot about the history and character of Lisbon. No wonder so tourists are attracted here.
After the tram ride, we went to Castelo de Sao Jorge on Bus 737 from the city centre.
This historic Moorish fort, castle, fortress standing proudly on Lisbon highest hill, offers panoramic views of the city and castle has a history that dated back to the 11th century.
Walking around and within the castle wall
View of Lisbon city from the Castelo.
Walking around Rossio in Baixia district with large square, fountain and monuments.
Along Rua Augusta, plenty of outdoor eateries towards Praca do Comercio.
