Day 11
20 Dec 2023
Quang Ngai to Nha Trang
The train slipped away punctually at 1005 from Quang Ngai Station. The passenger load was light, and almost all passengers were local. The ride was scheduled for 8 hours and 25 minutes.
Quang Ngai Station
On board this train, there is a cafeteria car and they serve simple meals, snacks and beverages. These were also sold on a push trolley regularly.
Dinner was served on push trolley. It cost less than S$3.
The scenery along the way becomes monotonous, after seeing this for the past week. Miles of padi field, some were already planted while some were ploughed and ready for planting.
Before I boarded this train, there was some time in the morning, so I took a walk around the city of Quang Ngai. It is an old city, nothing much to see except the busy crowd and the heavy traffic. I walked around the local market too.
The train arrived at Ga Nha Trang. ( Ga is station in Vietnamese). It was already dark and I took a Grab Taxi to Venue Hotel in the city centre.
Nha Trang is a big coastal city popular for its long stretches of sandy beach, diving sites and offshore islands. There are many hotels and seafood restaurants. There are also historical sites that dated back a thousand year.
