Vietnam Dec 2023 Day 6

Day 6

15 Dec 23

Vinh to Hue

These were the photo from an early morning stroll in Ho Goong Lake, in Vinh City.

The morning traffic in Vinh appeared very chaotic but somehow the traffic flows seamlessly. That is something special about the traffic in Vietnam. There are hardly any pedestrian crossing or overhead bridges even on major traffic junctions.

Wet market always depicts how the ordinary folks live. The market are dominated by women, both as buyers and sellers. The market sells almost everything that are needed in the kitchen.

The were photos of  the main streets in the evening.

I was on Train SE7 which departed Ga Vinh at 1240 for a 8 hours journey to Hue, the imperial capital of ancient Vietnam. SE7 is the train from Hanoi to Saigon and it is also called the Unification Express. On this sector, there were a mixture of local and foreigners.

Vietnam is endowed with fertile soil and abundance of water, no wonder it is an agricultural powerhouse and they are net exporter. The water also supports a seafood industry. On the train, the view  was an endless green field and water.

I saw many churches along the route. legacy of French colonisation.

Finally, I arrived at Hue Station in the evening and walked about 300 metres to AD 41 Hotel Hue. The journey didn't seem to be that long.
