Day 3
12 Dec 2023
Tam Coc - Mua - Trang An
Mua Cave Ninh Binh
The history of Mua cave Pagodas are very much connected to legend and myth of ancient Vietnamese culture. Much of the earlier Vietnamese civilization was, in turn was very much influenced by the Chinese mythology. At the peak of Mua Cave, a Pagoda, temple and a giant dragon were built.
The view of Tam Coc from the peak of Mua Cave, is breathtaking and panoramic. You see flooded rice fields, slow flowing river, and majestic limestone mountains covered with green vegetation. Together these elements create a wonderful picture.
Hundreds of concrete stones steps leads up to the peak. It's challenging but the climb was worth it
My next itinerary was Trang An Landscape complex which is a UNESCO site. The boat tour here is renowned for its spectacular scenery and boat going in and out of caves. My tour went through 9 caves, the longest was 270 metres.
The boat stopped at few sites to view ancient temples that dated back to the Dinh Dynasty.
At the jetty, there are be hundreds of boats.
This morning I started off at the first break of light, cycling through farmland. It was misty with overcast sky. I enjoyed the tranquillity and the morning fresh air. These were some of the sight I viewed cycling to Mua Cave.
