Canada Day 13, Sept 2022

10th Oct 2022

Day 13

The morning itineraries were Maligne Lake, Medicine Lake and Lac Beaufort, all South East of Jasper. It was a cloudy day and the temperature was cool. As Jasper is further north, the climate here was definitely autumn, the beautiful colour of the autumn foliage was so mesmerising.

Maligne Lake

Maligne Lake is connected to Medicine Lake by a river and the road runs along. The scenery was breathtaking.

Medicine Lake. At this time of the year, the lake is almost dry.

Driving back to Jasper. We saw a beautiful rainbow.

Lac Beauvert is just on the fringe of Jasper Town. It's cyrstal clear water is blue and turquoise. The calm surface reflected like a perfect mirror.

We had lunch by the lakeside. We left Jasper for Clearwater, estimated distance of 300 km and about 4 hours drive. It was also the start of the return journey back to Vancouver. We crossed the Athabasca River near Jasper and headed for Yellowhead Highway.

It was another 2 hours of driving before we arrived at Clearwater and checked into Well Gray Inn. Managed to take a few  photos of twilight over the mountain.

Today and yesterday drive were really awesome. Route to Maligne Lake.
