28th Sept 2022
Day 1
I had missed out and forgot to record this travel. It's never too late. With Google Timelife and photos digitally dated, to recall and write past travel is convenient.
This was my first travel after the pandemic. I left Singapore on 28th Sept and arrived at Vancouver airport on the same day. That's because Vancouver time is 15 hours behind. This was a direct flight of over 17 hours to Vancouver.
My brother Yow and sister-in-law met us at the airport. After lunch of Dim Sum at a local Chinese restaurant, he drove us to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal and drove onto the large BC Canadian ferry. It was an hour and a half of scenic cruise through the strait, arriving at Vancouver Island Swatz Bay Terminal.
We drove to his house near Lake Thetis. It was located in a very serene and tranquil neighbourhood surrounded by nature and ideal for those who enjoy walking around the lake and pine forest.
We chatted and talked about our families and good old times. We last met in 2019 during my nephew's wedding. This Vancouver trip was planned for 2020 and was postponed due to the pandemic.
For the next 10 days, I stayed here.
