Canada Day 8, Sept 2022

5th Oct 2022

Day 8

Vancouver Island

In the morning, I walked around the neighbourhood, enjoying the early morning sky.

In the afternoon, we drove to Kinsol Trestle. a historic landmark. We drove past the western section of Shawnigan Park and Lake.

The Kinsol Trestle, also known as the Koksilah River Trestle is a wooden railway trestle on Vancouver Island and acting as a bridge to cross the Koksilah River. The railway was built to connect Victoria to Nootka Sound and to transport timber to the sea. This trestle was completed in 1920. It is an engineering masterpiece for that period of time as the entire bridge was built from wood.

On the bridge, the railway track are now converted to boardwalk.
