Bonn

Day 7

Bonn was the former capital of West Germany with population of 350,000. It straddle the River Rhine and is the birth place of Beethoven, The city has hip pedestrian streets and lots of parks. There are many places of interest too. 

There was light drizzle and I just walked around the fringes of Centrum to see the buildings and see how the city of Bonn looks like. 

Then I walked to Bonn Botanical Garden through Centrum. Most of the summer plants and flowers in the garden had withered. But the trees and plants still boast beautiful autumn colours. 

The ponds and landscaping gave the garden an air of tranquillity and serenity.

I walked across Kennedybrucke and strolled along the river bank to see Bonn from that side of Rhine River. Later, I returned to the opposite side.

I ended the day at "Stadtbefestigung Alter Zell Bonn". This is a 17th Century defensive structure that offers a panoramic view of Rhine.
