Day 1
Frankfurt to Cologne
I had an unused complementary ticket for this year, and so I decided to do a 10 days solo trip to Germany. I haven't smelled and felt the winter for a few years. And I love walking in European cities which I enjoyed the architecture of medieval buildings, something I always did during my flying days.
I left Singapore on 29th Nov and arrived at Frankfurt Airport the next morning. I hopped onto a train to Frankfurt Haupthbahnhof. I had already bought an online train ticket to Cologne.
It was a smooth 2 hours train ride to Cologne, arriving mid afternoon. I checked into Opera Hotel Koln, located in the city centre and to stay for 3 nights.
Near to Opera Hotel Koln, there is an open market. They typically operate in the town square. There were all ready for Christmas. Vendors sell local food and souvenirs.
