HUANGSHAN 2ND TRIP NOV 2013 XIHAI GRAND CANYON

 

 Day 3. 12 Nov 13.    

 XIHAI GRAND CANYON. 

We missed this beautiful landscape last year as it was closed during winter. Today weather was cold with forecast of rain. Nevertheless we set off early in the morning after checking out of Baiyun Hotel.

From Baiyun, we walked to Xihai Cableway that will bring us down to the bottom of the canyon and from there we  trek through the canyon toward North Sea, Beihai where we had already booked 2 nights at Xihai Hotel. The trekking distance was approximately 7 to 8 km.

We walked to the cable car station.

The rain fell while we were in the cable car.

 After walking in the rain for a while, light drizzle followed with low moving clouds. Some of the views became slightly obscured. We wore raincoats.

The sceneries were just awesome and sometimes spectacular as the cloud moved through the canyon. Rain came and went occasionally throughout the day.

 Towards Cloud Dispelling Pavilion.

 

We finally reached Cloud Dispelling Pavilion, the end of Grand Canyon. It was almost 5 pm and we headed to Xihai Hotel.
