USA ANTELOPE CANYON MAY 2014

ANTELOPE CANYON

16 MAY 2014

Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon on Indian Reservation of the Navajo. The canyon was formed by erosion of the sandstone due to flash flooding especially during wet season, smoothening the hard edges to form “flowing” characteristics

We stayed the night at Antelope Canyon Inn.  It was a 30 minutes scenic drive on four wheels drive, through rock formations to Antelope. Nearer the canyon, the truck drove over open field and at time over dried river bed.

Just awesome. This spectacular scenes are work of  the nature. In this case, it is water. Imagine the sheer power of moving water.

Just fascinating

On the way back to Page

16 May 2014

The guided tour inside lasted only 40 minutes and we were back in Page before noon. We bought some food and groceries for the 10 hours drive up north towards Salt lake city. The drive through Arizona and Utah was very pleasant and the traffic wasn’t particularly heavy.  We took a few short stop to rest and had something to eat.

We pushed on beyond SLC and drove at night. Finally we stopped at Brigham City and stayed at Passport Inn and Suite.
