Weifang to Laiyang to Penglai to Yantai
Laiyang is known as the Township of Pear in China because of its unique Laiyang Pear which served as a tribute for the past emperors.
The drive through the Shandong peninsula was pleasant and refreshing as this is one of the most fertile lands in China. There were miles of pear farms blooming with flowers as we drove toward Laiyang.

Pear flowers were pollinated with the assistance of human to improve yield.
Penglai Pavilion Tourist Area
This place was where the emperors of Qin and Han Dynasties sought immortality on imperial tours. The Legend of the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea originated here. Because of the scenic beauty of the mountains and the sea, this place has long been known as a “Fairyland on Earth”
