VIETNAM—DANANG—FEB 2015

3 to 7 Feb 2015

Day 1 Danang

3 Feb 2015

I have been thinking of travelling in Vietnam for a long time but the preference was always ending up in Europe or USA whenever it was a family holiday. Now that there were only 2 of us, we could go to more exotic places. Having been convinced by my colleague, Danang is worth a try, I took it.

This vacation was on my off flying duty period, it will be 5 days. The plan was a free and easy vacation.  We travelled to Danang on Silk Air.

We arrived at Danang and took a taxi to Green Plaza Hotel, with a room nice view facing the Han River.

After checking into the hotel, we relaxed and walk around the city and enjoying the night city scene. At the same time snooped around for good eating outlets.

Day 2

4 Feb 2015

Danang—Marble Mountain

Marble Mountain is 9 km south of Danang. We took a taxi there.  The mountains are a cluster of hills made from limestone and marble. It is home to a network of  peaks, tunnels, caves, pagodas and temples. The caves within the mountain hold many secrets during the Vietnams war. These sites are also Buddhist sanctuaries and places of worship. There are much local folklores related to Marble Mountains.

The five mountains are named after the 5 elements, metal, water, fire, wood and earth.
