Day 5 in Yellowstone

Lamar Valley and Route 212

Route to Tower Fall, Lamar Valley and Cooke City

It was Day 5, our last day in Yellowstone. Today we toured north and east Yellowstone, driving on Route 89 to Mammoth and turned east to Tower Fall. Then we drove through Lamar Valley on Route 212 to enjoy the nature and wilderness. We drove  beyond Cooke City-Silver Gate. The driving time was over 3 hours,

Outside Moose Creek where we stayed the last few days. Also referred to as West Entrance

We drove pass Cooke City for another 30 minutes and thoroughly enjoyed the scenic drive. This route 212 to Red Lodge is supposed to be the most scenic route in USA. We miss it as the route was closed till end of May. The Pilot Peak was just captivating with its sharp peak.

The next day we left Yellowstone for a 5 hour drive to Salt Lake City. We stayed near the airport. The entire afternoon was for shopping. The next morning, I had to returned our rented car in the airport terminal and caught the Delta flight to Los Angeles. Thereafter we flew back on SIA to Singapore.
