Dubrovnik to Kotor and Budva and back to Dubrovnik
Route Map
Oil Town
Kotor is fortified by city walls and the building are well preserved. Most of
the walls were erected during the Venetian rule although the Roman, Byzantine
and Austrian were also involved. The walls stretched over the mountains. This
fortification is listed as World Heritage site.
The Walls
Old town
We took a
ferry around Bay of Kotor and landed on a small island with a prominent “Our
Lady of the Rocks” Church.
Views from
the cathedral on the island
After
Kotor, we drove to Budva. It too has an old town, fortress, churches and
beautiful seafront.
To reduce
travelling time, the bus went on a ferry to bypass the Bay of Kotor. We had a view of Budva from the Adriatic Sea.
