Rome Day 1

Yesterday afternoon we flew from Zagreb to Rome on Croatia Air. From Rome Fiumicino Airport, we took a train to the Main terminal. Our pre booked hotel, Cristina Hotel was within walking distance.

This morning we began our self guided walking tour of Rome. In reality, the entire Rome is a walking Museum. Our first destination is the must see attraction Colloseum.

Palatino.  Palatine Hill – Roman Forum

This ancient ground is massive, but now all in ruins. Nevertheless these preservation make good history markers.

Piazza Venezia

View of Rome from Piazza Venezia

Chiesa Del Gesu (Church) is a Jesuit Church. The facade of this church looks so ordinary. But inside the church, the artworks are awesome.

Chiesa de Sant Ignazio di Loyola is impressive and the artwork and painting inside this church is simply stunning, like an art gallery.

Pantheon is a Roman temple dedicated to all the gods in pagan Rome. It has a very big impressive brick dome.

Piazza Novona

Templum Matidiae

Trevi Fountain is the most beautiful and most spectacular fountain in Rome. Unfortunately due our visit it was closed for maintenance.
