Mount Popa Tour

Mount Popa is 50 km south east of Bagan. The car ride took 90 min.  This mountain is an extinct volcano about 5000 feet on the Pegu Range with spectacular views. The place is dedicated to animist spirits known as ‘Nats’. There are 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the peak.  It is a pilgrimage site and worship centre with numerous Nat temples and relic sites atop the mountain. It is considered the abode of Myanmar most powerful Nat.
