First on
this morning sightseeing list was the Vatican City and the must visit St. Peter’s
Basilica. The Vatican City is located within Rome, a few kilometers west of the Colosseum. It’s
on the west side of the scenic River Tiber.
St. Peter’s
Basilica is one of the finest Cathedrals in the world and is the spiritual
centre of the Vatican, where the Pope uses the pulpit to address his followers.
The paintings, sculptures, artifacts and the artworks are awe inspiring and
breathtaking. The dome dominates the skyline of Rome.
