CROATIA
Day 5 Tour
18 Oct 2015
Split – Dubrovnik
Our main
itinerary for the day was Dubrovnik which was 230 km and 3 hours drive from Split.
The route was particularly scenic along the coast nearer Dubrovnik as the bus
drove over hill and rounding the bend where we had stunning view of the
Adriatic Sea and the islands nearby.

Approaching Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is
a magnet to tourists with the spectacular views of medieval walled city,
cobbled stones narrow lanes with many of the well preserved elegant old
buildings. The movie Game of Throes was filmed at Lovrijenac Fortress as well
as Star Wars Episode IX was filmed on the main thoroughfare of the Old Town.
City walk. There are many recommended tourist walking routes in Dubrovnik. Some require over 3 hours.

the wall
The Walls
of Dubrovnik are a series of defensive stone walls surrounding the city, built
between 12th to 17th centuries had protected the people
living there for centuries. Today it is a UNESCO site. The walls run 1940m
uninterrupted and with height up to 75m encircled the old city. Walking on this
wall gave us a breath taking panoramic view of the port and the old town.
