LAI CHAU TO SAPA
Day 5 of
Tour
19 Aug 2015
The
distance to Sapa is 70 km and 2.5 hours of driving. The road is winding over mountain terrains, and at
times bumpy. But all this discomfort was compensated by the
magnificent scenery of the valleys and mountains. It was a wet day, and we saw
low clouds enveloping the mountains. We
drove through Chin Co Pass and Tram Son Pass where we were supposed to view the
Fanispan Mountain Peak but not so today.
We also
went off-track to see the Thac Tac Tin waterfall.
We
continued to drive through some more villages and also enjoy the mountain scenery.
Life in the village is full of varieties
We arrived in
Sapa town in the evening. It is obvious the town was developed to accommodate
the horde of tourists. There were plenty of hotels and eateries. We stayed
at Fanispan Panorama View Hotel on the hill top.
In Sapa, Lai Chau there are many group of ethnic minority. Many especially women are engaged in selling souvenirs to tourists.
The baby is carried in the basket.
